The bracket is sturdy. It didn’t fit our axel because of axel diameter difference and not enough thread depth. It also did not fit the frame forks, so we attached it to the back luggage rack. Had to add a flat plate in lieu of washer and had to use a longer nut to accommodate the plate. Once installed it works well for quick attachment to the tow leash.
The leash works ok, except it can bend 90 degrees if the dog gets slightly forward. Seems like it should have more resistance. Wasn’t any unusual tugging, just getting forward.
Cost of the bracket is high for just a simple piece of aluminum and a screw and nut. Worth less than $ 10.

It looks like you have installed a left-side Bike Tow Leash on the right side of your bike. The leash should be installed with the clip pointing forward so your dog can run beside you. The leash will bend backwards for safety if the dog needs to stop or avoid an obstacle. I have owned my BTL since 2017. It is now 2025 and my BTL is still going strong. I originally purchased for my Aussie who was aggressive with other dogs. I needed to give him real exercise and avoid his triggers. Off leash hiking was not an option for him. Now I am using it with my 18 month old Border Collie. When I cannot get him up into the mountains for a long hike, the BTL is the perfect solution. I recently purchased the quick connect attachment. I wish I had purchased it sooner! It is awesome. Have been using the BTL on the left side for years. Though always didn’t like my dog on the traffic side of the bike. So it is going to be me training myself to have my dog on the right side of the bike
Much better than leash under seat or attachments with the pipe to the side. The pipe always moved forward so leg was pushing against it on the down stride. Now my dog can't go ahead of the front tire or pull me off to the side. He loves running along side. Customer service was also great! We purchased a new bike and was very helpful getting the right attachment and return.

This bicycle towing device works very well on a 17lb miniature schnauzer whose focus is on everything around him. Tripp my little schnauzer pulled me off the bicycle at least a half a dozen times in the past month while holding the leash in my left hand on the handlebars. He is so quick, reactionary and high strung he catches me off guard and I am thrown off balance. This is a well-trained service dog and clearly these behaviors are not acceptable, they are frustrating. Bicycling is the best way drain Tripp's energy. I spent hours researching the website for safe towing devices for a small dog and found two. My choice was the Bike Tow Leash due to its design and function. My gut told me it is the right choice! So far, it has only been used once. After ten minutes Tripp realized he could not go behind, in front of bike, be distracted by other animals or under the wheels no matter how much he tried and pulled. We will have many good rides in the future as the dog fully accepts his position and I already experienced positive reactions from a very smart typically stubborn schnauzer whom I love dearly. Having him learn to walk/jog on the offside (right) confused Tripp at first, it did not take him long to figure it out. Most importantly we were both safe on the road. The design and function of the tow leash is as the designer explained to me and worth it. I highly recommend it for large and small dogs and truly believe it is the best on the market.
We received our bike tow leash nicely packaged. The company owner gave us the recommendation to buy the additional mounting bracket which we did. It was simple to install I mounted everything to the bike frame using 2 Allen head screws. The bike frame had 2 threaded mounting holes on it already. Adjusted the height for my dog and he loves running on it. Good quality materials and workmanship
we bike with our dogs all the time, but recently upgraded to the Bike Tow Leash to run with our GSP. The install was super easy, and the customer service is awesome.
The leash itself is the best I have ever used. It positions the dog perfectly next to the bike, and continues to keep the dog at a safe distance to the bike, even when I turn. It is also super flexible, so it allows the dog to move freely and does not interfere with the running of the dog.
Great design and has enough give to not hurt the dog or the rider.
This was a great addition for the tow leash as it now allows me to not only remove the tow leash quickly, it allows clearance on the right side of the bike for the chain. I also took mine and had a friend power coat it black to match the other parts on the bike.
I had gotten one for the right side because of the gears. I recently bought a 2nd one for the left side. The left side finctioned without it, but it made it so much easier to pop on/off. I have 2 dogs with very different stamina, so it helped to be able to quickly remove it and get back out there.
The way my bike was built also made it easier to get a tight fit with this attachment; putting the BTL directly on the bike bars would sometimes loosen up (not that it caused trouble during a ride, but so next time I had to tighten it a bit.
Love the product. Well made, simple to install and most importantly, our dog loves it. I used to ride with one hand on the bars and one hand on the lease. This is much safer, hands down.
I actually ordered The Bike tow leash and the quick mount so it total more than 150 bucks. I was promised for a refund for shipping n handling but got refunded for quick mount shipping only otherwise happy with this product
This is such a great product! So easy to use and incredibly safe and comfortable for both dog and rider. The team adjusted to suit our Great Dane and it works as brilliantly for gentle rides around the park for bigger dogs, as it does for adventurous smaller dogs.
I wish it were an add on right when we purchased, so I didnt need to wait longer.
I prefer having my dogs on this side because it keeps them away from cars.

This attachment does the job it's made to do. It appears to do it very well. We have not had any issues securely attaching it to the bike. The Bike Tow Lease attaches to the attachment very securely as well.
Husband says it installs quickly and makes it easy to mount and adjust the Bike Tow Leash.
Does the job! If you have a bike with disc brakes, this will allow you to fit the tow leash to the frame of your bike.
